The Dark Knight Tuesday, Jul 22 2008

The Dark Knight movie far apart from being the biggest hype of the year due to Heath Ledger accidental death is also the biggest hit ever. Ranking at the expected number one it made $18 million from pre-screening and midnight movies alone. It expected to hit the $100 million mark for the weekend and so it did. Just a few minutes ago I was delited to hear on the news that it made over $158 million this weekend making it the movie which has brought in the most money EVER.

Being Heath Ledger’s preformance nothing short of amazing and the actual movie being worth every penny and then some I expected this outcome. Although i didn’t expect more than $150 million. I do believe that some of the millions (well under $10 million) was mostly hype and people going to see it due to Heath’s tragic death. But honestly I feel that the others went either because they were Batman fans or because the preformance really was that amazing, oh forgot to mention those who went more than once!

**THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH CONTAINS MINIMAL SPOILERS, YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!**

There was a critic on a show tonight who said that the main movie was Heath beacause whenever the Joker wasn’t around he wanted more of the Joker. Well I must go against his opinion seeing that the entire cast was amazing and the moments that did not include the Joker were still just as great as those that did. Now one thing I must address is Batman’s voice. WHAT was up with THAT?! My guess, Enter text here.maybe it was because he didn’t want to be discovered and he spends so much time engulfed in gadgets and fighting crime that voice lessons just don’t fit in the schedule. Another thing I wanted to write about was how Heath’s preformance was so  grand that his villanous ways overshadowed, in my opinion, Harvey Two-face’s. I wouldn’t have payed much attention to Two-Face had he not been so bluntly placed in the movie with the whole agnst and pain of losing Rachel.

**SPOILERS DONE**

Now on to tickets! Lucky me I went to the 34th st AMC in NYC and got there with friends at 12:20pm. We got some of the last tickets for the 12:45pm show! Sweet right? When we entered it was sooo packed we were left with seats in the bottom front row. Being short AND being in such a low area, having to look up wasn’t very sweet yet I wanted to see it badly. After we left there was a ridiculous amount of people waiting and a line to the actual movie which was crazy.  I’ve never experienced such a demand first hand, gotta say, it was more heart warming than shocking. A friend of mine went to get tickets at 6pm and couldn’t get any screening tickets except the midnight one! Well that’s enough on my part. Time to go see the movie again, this time IMAX!

It came. It’s not perfect but it is still beautiful. Tuesday, Jul 15 2008

So after a few days of being fed up with iPhone news I finally decided to post about it. And I do this to merely say that it is out there and well jsut like any blogger give my point of view on it.

It seemed to me at first that everything about the iPhone 3G would be groundbreaking, worth getting and would blow everyone away. In an odd way it did, it blew most people away FROM the phone itself due to having to wait in line much longer than expected and being phoneless for the duration of what may be the longest massive cellphone activation ever. But forgive and forget right? Well after reports that the actual 3G capabilities sort of lagged and issues with Mobile Me it’s pretty difficult to forget (forgiving isn’t a choice considering all the money people coughed up to get the phone, so the must forgive).

Now i don’t mean to be a hater because I respect the iPhone, mostly since I want to play that Monkey game! Buuut it seemed to me that it was more like a sleek and sexy new model to represent Apple’s grip on the tech. world than something deserving of so much media attention. Which got me wondering, “if both the iPhone and The Dark Knight had come out the same day, who would have gotten more attention?”. Another random note off my head. But all in all, it IS a great phone, i just..well guess the hype is dying down a bit. Especially with carriers in Canada and New Zealand offering sky high prices and AT&T ripping off it’s customers with International usage fees and services that MUST be added with the iPhone.  What is up with the bullies these days?

Movies of Summer and one for the Fall Sunday, Jun 29 2008

Alright so I went to 34th and saw The Incredible Hulk, Love Guru and Wanted. Lemme start off by saying that I sooo did not know that movie tickets were on special if one went in the morning! $6 as opposed to the regular fee of $11. That’s a pretty good deal! I will definitely do that again. So on to the reviews I guess (I’m not much of a reviewer so don’t expect much lol).

~The Incredible Hulk

Features a cast that really brought the movie to life although I questioned “Betty” and her low tone of voice. I had to basically pay extra attention whenever she spoke and its like she never showed much emotion until the cab scene, but maybe this is just the way the character was supposed to be played out, I didn’t see the first movie and haven’t read much of the comics so I don’t know. The graphics overall were damn amazing, some scenes (which I won’t mention as to not spoil it) you could swear that the Hulk wasn’t even computer generated while others you could tell but it still looked amazing. Normally I hate it how movies always try to include a love scene but in this one it pretty much fit right in like the canons on the war tanks. (^_^) Overall I would most certainly recommend others to see it AT THE MOVIES! The sound experience is just sooo much better unless you got the hook up with Bose already.

~The Love Guru

I did not see much of this movie as well we were pretty tired and Wanted began before this one ended. I’ve got to say I wasn’t too excited about it from the commercials since it all seemed so, not funny? But once I saw it, it was pretty good especially the jokes that were made. Some of which took me a while to understand and there’s still one that me and my comrades STILL don’t get, but that’s ok because it sounded funny enough for us to laugh anyway (lack of sleep makes us do that, A LOT haha). For this one I’ll have to watch it on pay-per-view or cable again since I missed part of it but looking foward to it! Since I didn’t see the whole thing I cannot accurately say that I would recommend it but from what I say, I say it’s a good laugh if you’re looking for one.

~WANTED!!!

Well obviously from the way i wrote the title you know what’s coming…

AWESOME!! AMAZING!! Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie are badass in this movie, or at least Morgan is the Rep. for the badasses, but still got some awesome moves of his own as he will give a preview of in a scene. All the cast works in such synchrony that it makes you feel like it may just be based on a true story. Everything from the script to the bullets themselves was just flawless in my opinion. i would say so much more about the movie but I fear if I continue I will spoil some parts for others, so go see it! And don’t wait for it on cable, pay up it’s worth it! Shoot I’ll probably go see it again I’m sure.

Now on to other movies, you know those in the previews. So here are the movies of the summer and one for the fall.

~Swing Vote

A movie about a father who’s daughter sings him up to vote but he’s not into politics at all. And so it just so happens that when the father goes to vote there was an error so he gets the chance to vote again which becomes a HUGE story around the nation because amazingly all the votes so far have left the Presidential runners in a tie so this one man’s vote will determine the winner! Now he must make a choice that has the nation quite literally breathing down his neck. Here’s what he said when a reporter asked who he’d vote for,

“Remind me who’s running again? *laughter*”

Yup good movie to make everyone wonder if it’ll happen in this year’s election. Oh did I mention Geroge Lopez and Nathan Lane are in there? Well yes dear those two are in the mix!

Swing Vote

~Righteous Kill

A movie about two cops (Al Pacino and Robert De Niro) who must figure out who’s killing a whole bunch of bad guys. What else is there you say? Well that’s pretty much all I got from the trailer, but trust me, these two bombshells of actors, I’ll be watching that movie for sure. Besides, who doesn’t like a little criminal investigation these days? This gem will be out sometime September.

~ The Dark Knight

Helloooo BATMAN! ‘Nuff said., because unless you’ve been living under a closet beneath a staircase, you should know all about this movie. And about the next one!

Dark Knight Official Site

~Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

Hellboy was pretty good, but I mean the evil guy in part two is not only cool but COOL! I’d totally cosplay him, although not having a shirt may make things difficult but I’ll find a way around that. So pretty much badass evil versus hella badass good plus some stiff romance up in there and quite a lot of butt kicking, not to mention maybe some broken ribs and possibly pirates trying to you know, film a movie which will totally suck due to

A. Poor Quality

B. Viewers being told when to laugh, kinda like comedy shows

C. Random people walking by

and possibly

D. Security beating bootlegger with a flashlight and popcorn being shoved into the camera lens

Not too sure about the last one but hey, THAT kind of scene I wouldn’t really complain about.

~The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Jet Li will be starting as (a-duh) the Dragon Emperor, First Emperor Qin who has arisen, a thousand years after being curse by a wizard. He has the power of all the 4 elements. Brendan Foster and Luke Ford play Rick and Alex who go after the Emperor after awakening him and try to bring him down. This movie will be out in theaters August 1st.

~Eagle Eye

The movie that I really want to see right after Black Knight. This story entails of two people who receive phone calls at different points in times and are told to do things. These roles are played by Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan (Jerry and Rachel). At one point Jerry is told to duck down, soon affter about a few seconds a train flies in through the window and almost kills him. It pretty much felt like Big Brother (tv show, not the show itself more like the concept) meets Battle Royale (movie). So if you’re into action and mystery I’d hit this one up. Broke you say? Well you’ve got enough time to get a job and head out to see it! This comes out September 26th!

Eagle Eye Trailer

~Hancock

What can I say? Will Smith is the man and I’m pumped to see how he’s doing after “I Am Legend” (^_^). Which is most likely damn good if his billboards are all over the place almost like those “Snorg” t-shirt ads are ALL OVER the internet. You thought the rickroll was taking over? Nope, it’s Snorg babe, Snorg. Oh and I finally got rickrolled dammit. Thanks a lot Oogie Boogie <~ That was sarcasm.

Oh! For those into comics there will be a movie coming out called “The Spirit” don’t know much about it, but here’s a link: The Spirit

Apple’s iPhone 3G and Snow Leopard are announced! Wednesday, Jun 11 2008

So as you all probably know by now Apple introduced the iPhone 3G.

http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0806wdt546x/event/index.html

And it’s only $199!! Thinking about it, the ipod Touch is $299 for 8gb soo I would probably just get the iPhone instead. I mean I’d save $100 AND I would have many more features that would be of a much more advantage.

Or I could just get a free 8gb touch by buying a new laptop through Apple. Although if they’re giving it away for free so easily that means that they must have something better coming out pretty soon. But if they did, then they would have announced it at the WWDC, unless they are just planning on selling the models with more memory and getting more money for those since the iPhone 3G is so much cheaper.

http://www.apple.com/backtoschool/index.html?CID=WWW-NAUS-BTS20080530-H9F5U

Anyways, back to iPhone 3G, for the price tag i’m sure there will be tons of people waiting to get it this year. And considering it’s FREAKING GPS enabled and has many other cool features, especially ones companies will surely like (remote wipe) it’s def. gonna be bringing in the bucks this year. With an estimate of about 8 million to be sold worldwide i don’t think Apple has to worry about even making an ad for it! I think they’d sell well over 16 million just through word-of-mouth honestly. But indeed Apple of course made an ad and Jobs was so excited about it that he actually played it twice the Worldwide Developers Conference at San Francisco.

In other Apple news, the long rumored “Snow Leopard 10.6 OS” has now been confirmed!I guess since there are only so many big cats in the world they’ve got to start adding to the names. So what’s next for 10.7 OS? Tropical Leopard? Or shall they begin to use domestic cat breeds and go for something fluffly like a ragdoll?

Cloud Potential, Start-o! Tuesday, Jun 10 2008

So first of all I’m amazed I

FINALLY

got to making this blog.

This is mostly to see basically my potential and also to increase my writing skills. Not only that but I also want to have a way to be made aware and make people I know aware of things that are happening around the world or around my mind. I truly hope that I do not abandon this, as I would like to continue to update this at a lot. I won’t be setting up an estimate of how much I should blog or any goals like that, since they have failed in past…pretty pathetic I know. This time though, I really WILL give it my all and hey this will help me keep track of the silly things I say, find and yes silly things I at times do.

Well I guess to introduce myself, you can all see my name as “Chi Noneim”. That is the name I shall keep up, maybe it will change one day not sure. Chi is short for Chibi, I choose Chi instead of Chibi because, well let’s face it everybody’s “Chibi” nowadays. (-__-) I choose the name “Cloud Potential” due to the ever changing nature of clouds and how they can be anything really and are not only capable of bringing joyous moments but also sad ones (rain) not that I hope to bring sad ones, but all things have their ups and downs.

Alright, well let’s get this thing started!
